As announced at Imagine 2016 in April, Magento 2.1 is set be released soon. Today, the first release candidate is available for download. If you’re a magento developer or store admin, I suggest you get on it and get to know the new features.
The biggest improvements to me are:
- Universal Admin Search – Search the entire admin panel easily (No more clicking through pages to find what you need)
- New Product Creation Interface – Easily create new products from a single tab (Product creation similar to Shopify or WooCommerce)
- PayPal in-context checkout – Allows customers to pay with PayPal without leaving your site (No redirecting to PayPal)
This version also comes with improved Braintree PCI compliance and 18 issue fixes. Currently the only download of Magento 2.1 RC is via the Magento 2 github repo.
